Polypropylene
Material Properties
- also called Poly(1-methylethylene)
- thermoplastic polymer (pliable at elevated temperatures)
- slightly harder and more heat-resistant to polyethylene
- white, mechanically rugged material and has a high chemical resistance
- second-most widely produced commodity plastic
- density of PP is between 0.895 and 0.93 g/cm3
- PP is the commodity plastic with the lowest density
- Young's modulus of PP is between 1300 and 1800 N/mm
- normally tough and flexible
