General dry beans

  1. Overnight soak: Cover beans with water and soak 8-12 hours
    • Quick soak: Boil beans in water for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and soak for 1 hour.
  2. Drain and Rinse
  3. Boil 3 cups water to 1 cup beans for 90 minutes (15 minutes less for black beans)
  4. Add salt or acid (vinegar, tomatoes) to avoid beans toughening
  5. Drain beans
  6. 5 day fridge life

Add Garlic, onion, bay leaves, herbs for taste
