Hummus
Ingredients
- BASE: Blend for 1 minute:
- NOTE: Only thing done separately, makes smoother vs grainier
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (aka 1 large lemon)
- 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)
- Just blend 1/2 cup seeds... same thing homie
- FLAVORS: Blend for 30 more seconds:
- 1+ clove garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons extra virign olive oil
- 1/2+ teaspoon salt
- CHICKPEAS: Blend for 1 more minute:
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed
- or ~1.5 cups cooked chickpeas
- TEXTURE: Add slowly while blending:

Roasting Sesame Seeds
- Toast (optional but recommended):
- Heat sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium-low heat, stirring often
- Until lightly golden and fragrant (3–5 minutes)
- Reduces bitterness and adds more nuttiness flavor
- About double the number of seeds per usage of tahini sauce
